It's Giveaway Day!
I don't know about you, but Giveaway Day has become a tradition for me. And I have realised that I have even more fun when I am giving something away than just participating in other people's giveaways. I love reading comments that others leave on my blog and I am happy to make one lucky winner.
Which is why I am participating once again in this Giveaway Day. The last few weeks have been a bit hectic and I haven't had time to sew something nice to offer, so I will keep it simple and give away three coordinating fat quarters of fabrics from my stash. The pink one is a print from Jenean Morrison's California Dreamin' collection; the flowers on brown are from Michael Miller's Hedgehog collection; the other one, I don't know where it comes from, but I call it Froot Loops!
So, if you would like to win these fabrics, here is how it goes:
1. This giveaway is open to everyone, everywhere in the world, so you have no reason not to enter, right?
2. It will be open until the end of May 25, Eastern Time, and the winner will be announced late on May 26.
3. Please do not Twitt nor write on Facebook about my giveaway, and follow me only if you feel like it, because none of these will give you more chances.
4. What you need to do is leave me one good old comment right here and tell me something that you like about nature (it can be watching the sunset from your backyard, or going fishing on the weekend, or collecting insects with your grandchild). I know, it would be easier to say "Pick me", but I read the comments, and it's better if I can find interest in them.
5. The winner will be chosen randomly, so don't worry about having the most original comment, just tell me something nice about your relation to nature.
6. Make sure I have a way to reach you if you win. If your profile is set up as No-Reply, please include your email address in your comment, otherwise I will have to pick another winner, and that would be such a bummer.
Best of luck to all! I'll be looking forward to reading your comments.
And don't forget to check out all the other giveaways on Sew Mama Sew!

Oooh lovely. I'm trying to get myself to use more modern fabrics, and those I wouldn't have trouble with!
ReplyDeleteI like the noise of the crazy frog creature outside our bedroom window... but it keeps the husband from sleeping, so he puts on fake nature noises on his radio. Silly man.
Thank you for the chance to win such wonderful fabrics! And about nature... I can tell a lot. I love taking photos of flowers, love to watch birds playing in my garden, long walks in the woods... but espacially the early Spring time, when all the trees are blooming...
ReplyDeleteI love to practice my photography on flowers, bugs, birds, trees, leaves... basically anything outside.
ReplyDeleteAnd stuff that grows absolutely fascinates me, so I'm teaching myself to garden.
Cute fabrics!
Love the brown fabric

Also, I love seeing my 1 year old's delight at discovering new living things (like bugs)
Lovely fabrics, thanks for the chance to win. I live near the beach & love to walk near the coast early in the morning, it's a great way to start the day.
ReplyDeleteAs I'm a chronic pain sufferer I don't get to see nature very often. But every once in a while we find a wheelchair friendly campsite and go camping. I love sitting by the tent and knitting smelling all that lovely fresh air while my loved ones go tramping over hills. I may suffer for the pleasure of sleeping in a tent, but there is nothing like it for healing the soul.
ReplyDeleteI love to look at my baby playing on the garden grass.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI like the sea. I love being near it, walking on the beach, swimming in it... everything about the sea is wonderful. Unfortunately, I live just about as far from the sea as is possible if you're in the UK. My only wish for the next place I move to is that it should be closer to the seaside!
Lovely fabric. The bet thing about nature is rabbits, baby rabbits and their parents. I love seeing them hopping around!
ReplyDeleteI love how the rain makes the leaves on the trees dance.
ReplyDeleteLovely fabric, I know I'd make lots of cute things for our grandkids from it. I love discovering new crafty blogs, especially Canadian ones.

ReplyDeleteI love watching the sun rise in the morning as we live by the beach and are the first to see the new day in the world
ReplyDeletelove the fabric! thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteMy son and I go on rainbow hunts when it is raining. He's never seen a real one. UNTIL LAST NIGHT! It was one of those "sprinkling-but-sunny" evenings, and as we were on our way home in the car we saw a rainbow over our house. We got home and went on the front porch, and for a bonus, it had turned into a DOUBLE rainbow! Awesome!!!
ReplyDeleteI love so much about nature! The ocean, the African countryside (I miss and love that more then anything!), going out and exploring nature with my son. It's all good!

ReplyDeleteThanks for the awesome giveaway. :)
My favorite thing about nature is seeing my kids interact with it. Whether my son is digging in the dirt or my daughter is blowing the dandelions, it's a special thing. We live near a river and love to ride bikes near there and look at all the ducks together. :)

ReplyDeletep.s. my email is khsmiles(at)juno(dot)com

ReplyDeleteMaevy, how nice of you to ask for nature comments! I am newly living in a small city in northern Florida -- sandy, hot, dry, and nothing I plant wants to grow! However, my sweetie and I love to sit out on our patio very late at night, and watch the cats in the neighborhood, and talk with them. They are each beautiful in a different way, and somehow manage to survive despite not having homes aside from the areas outside these apartments. It is a joy to feed them, and be part of their lives...
ReplyDeleteI love the outdoors - and sunsets are my favorite. :) And lakes. And the moon. And the stars. Okay - I'll quit now - I just love nature!
ReplyDeleteThose fabrics are just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love swimming in forest ponds, picking mushrooms in the autumn, crisp winter afternoons when the entire world is blue, napping in the garden with my cat. Asking me what I like about nature is very close to asking what I like about life - except for the whole crafting aspect ;)

ReplyDeleteNature, that's a topic I could talk a lot about, but you have already had to read a lot of entries to get this far so I will narrow it down...I love to be the first person to put a baby on the grass. Not on a blanket or a lap, right on the grass, letting them experience the real thing, up close. Also, my hubby saw me brush a spider off my hand while I was in the garden the other day, he was shocked! I tried to explain that they just give me the creeps when they're in the house, in the garden they're cool. Makes perfect sense to me!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the great giveaway. It's lovely.

I live in a nature filled environment and I love my relationship with it. I know the ground I walk on and the lakes and the birds and the beasts. Hi Maevy, thank you for your lovely giveaway! I must say, I have loved nature ever since I was a little girl (but bugs still freak me out!). Something about it just makes me feel at peace. Whenever I surround myself with anything naturally beautiful - from animals and flowers, to the countryside or even paintings of nature - it seems to calm my soul and helps with my depression.

I love sitting by a shore in the evening and listening to the waves come in. Now with children, I love to play with them at the beach in the shallow waves!
ReplyDeleteI have a Father's Day tradition and my dad and I used to climb up on the roof of the summer cottage on June 21st (close enough to Father's Day for us) and mark the exact time that the sun would slip below the horizon. Now that we live on different continents, we both try to watch the sunset and time it where we live... Tricky, but it mostly works :)
ReplyDeleteI love to watch the clouds, rain-drops, Sea Waves, Waterfalls, Birds flying, Mountains, Greenery ... I can go on and on ;D
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance :D

ReplyDeleteI love the feeling of serenity I get from being in the mountains. There is nothing more satisfying than looking down on the view after a hard slog up hill.
ReplyDeleteI love that you want to read comments about our relationship with nature. We already have a connection.
ReplyDeleteWe are an outdoor family and I can't pick something specific, but my husband and I chose both our daughters' names because of their natural connection.
Sierra means "mountain" in Spanish. And Kaia, depending on where you look is either the feminine form of the Hawaiian word for ocean, kai, or a derivative of the Greek earth goddess, Gaia.

ReplyDeleteThere is a river that runs through our downtown park. It is spilling over the dams at flood level. Visiting last weekend, we rode a gondola over the falls and listened to the roar of the water as it crashed on the Basalt rock riverbed. The wall of water was a whiteout- like a blizzard. So powerful and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love rain! I especially love laying in bed listening to it rain!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing about nature is watching my children interact with the world around them. We currently have a bird nest in our garage and my oldest loves to sit and watch the mama bird come and go.

Ever since I was a little girl, one of the only things I got to do with my dad was feed birds/ducks so this is special to me. I love watching birdies, feeding them, feeding the ducks, etc, and teaching my girls the same love for this.
ReplyDeleteLove to watch the birds, bunnies and foxes in our yard!
ReplyDeleteI just love going to the river with my dog and watching him chase frogs and bugs and think that he's a wild animal, too. Thanks for the chance to win. akmajor (at) gmail (dot) com
ReplyDeleteRight now I live down town in a big city so I feel no nature here. But when we lived in Alaska the sky would be so big and the mountains so tall that the ocean looked kind of small next to them. I miss that.
ReplyDeleteHurray!

One thing I love about nature is the sound of rain on the roof while I'm in bed. There's nothing better than staying home and cuddling when it's raining outside
ReplyDeleteI love going on nature hikes when the seasons change and taking pictures so I can see how the scene changes throughout the year! It's really neat!

ReplyDeleteHi, I'm a gardener in the UK. I have worked in some fabulous gardens, one I know you will be able to google is Hidcote Manor. Working outside all year round certainly puts you in touch with nature. The summer is great but in the garden I prefer autumn and winter. I love putting the garden to bed in the autumn and February sunsets.
ReplyDeleteI love randomly seeing cool birds like the bluejay I saw driving home just now. :)
ReplyDeletei love watching my little balcony garden grow and bloom

I love that stack of fabrics, especially the pink one on top! My favourite thing about spring is rediscovering my flowerbeds and seeing how much my perennials have reproduced!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing is watching everything turn green in the spring...I'm from Canada so it's so refreshing to see the snow melt and watch the trees bud and see the little green sprouts pushing their way through the soil in my flower bed :)

What I like about nature? Just the fact there is such thing as nature is something unbelievable.
ReplyDeleteI just love watching the earth come to life after a long winter! The birds singing, the leaves emerging on the dead looking trees, flowers popping up in the garden! So beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love to sit out and here the birds are singing.
ReplyDeleteAnd I love to walk up on mountains here we live in Norway:-)

I live in the Pacific NW where it is always green! I love watching all the various birds that come to the feeder outside my kitchen window. There really is a "pecking order," now I know where that phrase came from!
