A Giveaway / Un prix à gagner
Today is Sew Mama Sew's giveaway and I am offering one of my handstitched Christmas ornaments. I have been making a few of them for my shop, and also for our own tree here at home. You can see the different designs in my shop, if you feel curious.
I know that most of you are on a sprint of visiting all the great giveaways, so I will make it easy to enter mine:
1. All you have to do to enter is leave a comment on this post, telling me what is your favorite ornament in your tree. It can be something you inherited from your grandmother, something you or your child made, or some happy vintage find. I am just curious to know what other people put on their trees.
2. This giveaway is open to everyone, I will happily ship to any country.
3. The giveaway is open until December 7, and the winner will be announced next week-end. Please make sure that I have a way to contact you, otherwise you will be disqualified.
4. The winner will be chosen at random.
Best of luck to everyone! And don't forget to check all the other giveaways here.
Sylvie
P.S. Sorry for the messy post, Blogger is acting up this morning and will not let me make it any better than this :(
Bonjour!
My favorite ornaments are those that are hand made by my children. The second favorite ones are the ones I use to put on the tree as a kid that my mother gave to me when I started to have kids. They bring back great memories.
ReplyDeleteI have two types of ornaments. The handmade ones, try to make something different each year, and the ones i collect in my trips to foreign countries!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the opportunity on a great draw. Love the ornament. My favourite one(s) are the ones my children made for me when they were young.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite ornament is a felt snowman that a friend of my grandma's made, one for each of my mom's brothers and sisters. Hers has on an orange hat.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite ornament in my tree is one that my son made. He dipped his hand in white paint, then held a plain ornament in his hand. He decorated all the white impression his fingers made, to look like snowmen. It's adorable! :)
ReplyDeleteMine would have to be the ones I have being given
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely ornament! My tree has a lot of red balls, and handmade. I don't have a favourite, but because I collected them over many years I have fun remembering when I got them as we decorate each year.
ReplyDeletemy favorite ornament is the first ornament my husband and I bought together. It is a cat and a dog in christmas hats with our names on it.
ReplyDeleteI hope I can enter not knowing what my favorite ornament is. I'm sure I have one, and I'm sure my son made it, but my tree isn't out yet and honestly I have no memory of a favorite one. Maybe my favorite has yet to be created, bought, or received. I do very much love the one you are giving away. I love anything that someone has taken time to create.

ReplyDeleteI have a series of tiny glass "drops" on wires that catch the light and make the tree sparkle.
ReplyDeleteOh, how lovely. I've just recently realized that you don't have to make just x's! My favorite is likely a beaded and sequined dove an elderly friend made me - I love it so much it doesn't get put away with the other ornaments, but stays on my desk the rest of the year. But most of my ornaments have a story connected with them (except for a set of gold balls from the store), and I love them all.
ReplyDeleteOoo, I love mercury glass ornaments that I've collected here there and everywhere. I love to find a new shape or shade.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite ornament was a splurge when I backpacked through Ireland with my sister-- a Waterford crystal seahorse engraved with the dates of our trip together. Thanks for the chance to win! akmajor (at) gmail (dot) com

ReplyDeleteMy favourite ornament on my parent's Christmas tree is a cute elf that they've had since I was a small child - it just brings back memories of Christmas when I see it. :-)
ReplyDeleteWe don't use my favorite ones anymore. We had these tiny painted wooden ornaments from Europe like rocking horses and soldiers they were probably about 1-1/2 inches tall. Now we've got a "fancy" tree and may favorite part is the white lights.

ReplyDeleteI have many favorite ornaments. I made snoopy felt ornaments many years ago and they are some of my favorites. My kids have made a few that I love too and I have a small number of plastic ones from when I was a child.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite ornament is a little handsewn bunny-angel that I have had for 22 years. I got it in hopes that I would have a baby to give it to the following year...well it actually took over 2 years but I have a fantastic 19 year old son and that bunny-angel crowns the tree every year!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite ornament is one that my sister made for me back when we were little girls. It is just a styrofoam ball that she glue a Christmas napkin design to and covered with glitter. It may not be the most beautiful, but it means the most to me! Thank you for the chance to win your lovely ornament, another handmade gem to add to the collection of cherished ornaments!

ReplyDeleteMy favorite ornament is from when I was young. it is a little drum covered with felt and rickrack and sequins and to little drumsticks with pearl looking ends. I remember it always being on the tree, but I'm not really sure how old it is. My sister also has a matching one.

ReplyDeleteHi ! As your message is bilingual, I will answer in French (hope you don't mind) :
ReplyDeletenotre sapin est eclectique ! On y met toujours les boules "mon premier Noël" offertes à nos enfants, celles que l'ainée avait faite et décorée à la crèche, et toutes ces petites bricoles chères à mon cœur qui font le lien avec ma famille qui n'habite pas aussi près !
Sans parler des bonbons que j'aime bien suspendre aux branches !!!
we have also family ornaments, I have nothing against "professionally" decorated trees but in our house the tree means family, fun and sharing!!

ReplyDeleteMy favorite ornament is one that one gifted to me 3 years ago from a dear family friend. She actually sent several but the one I love the most is this beautiful 5 tiered wedding cake full of beautiful colors and lots and lots of glitter! It's something I really care about and make sure I put it right smack in the middle of the tree so it's what my eyes go to the most often. I'm so blessed to have such a wonderful husband and family.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the chance to win. You do fabulous work!
I like the fabric ball ornaments I made when my daughter was one. They go on the bottom of the tree with the other non breakables
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is a stocking ornament that my sister-in-law made using a piece of a quilt made by my Grandmother. The quilt was too ragged to be used, so she made ornaments for all us siblings.
